Wired and ready to hang. Older piece from a few years ago. Delta Council Tree was a meeting place for the Ute people during treaty talks.

 

The spring winds blew hard and the old council tree’s branches swayed wildly back and forth, the ancient branches creaking with age. Standing over 85 feet tall and at least 7 feet in diameter the tree was massive. I stood there mesmerized. I had come to see where the Ute held their councils. This composition is an effort to capture the tree and its indescribable energy. It was clear I was standing on Holy ground.
